A Rochester Police Officer was dragged about 100 feet by a burglary suspect in a patrol car Wednesday morning, and that suspect is still on the run.

This happened around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning while police were responding to a home invasion in progress on Eighth street in the City.

The victim, who had been pistol whipped was able to give a description of the suspects’ car.

Officers spotted it nearby on Wabash street.

One suspect was arrested, but another man inside ran away.

Investigators say that suspect ended up getting inside a patrol car and dragged an officer as he tried to stop him.

Officer Chris Schreier had to let go and was treated from scrapes and road burns.

The vehicle and a gun were later found abandoned on Pershing and Rocket Street.

Police are still searching for the second suspect.
