Our previous reporting is as follows:

Granite City Police are looking for one of their administration cars. It was stolen Monday evening at a stoplight.

The officer, driving an unmarked 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid, got out of the car to check on a driver in a van that hadn’t moved once the light turned green. The Fusion started backing up, then lurched forward, knocking the officer to the ground. Both the car and the van then turned right to head north on Route 3.

Several of the officer’s belongings, including guns, were inside the car. It was tracked to the downtown St. Louis area before the signal was lost. The car is silver with no police lights or markings on it with Illinois plates B372394.

The officer was treated for minor injuries.
