A traffic stop in Bessemer turned into a police chase early Tuesday morning, and the suspect was in a stolen police car.

Bessemer police say when they pulled over Dexter Le Jordan for a traffic stop, they smelled marijuana. When they brought a drug dog around the car, Jordan made a run for a police car and sped off.

After a nearly 10 mile chase, they say Jordan ditched the police car and ran into the woods. Police and K-9 units eventually caught him.

Inside his car police found six pounds of marijuana.

No one was injured during the chase, and Jordan is expected to face multiple charges.
