08/28/16 Gallitzin, PA – 21 Year Old Leaves Assisted Living Home – Breaks Into Sewage Treatment Plant – Steals Gallitzin Officer’s Police Car – Highway Chase

A 21-year-old man stole a police car after leaving an assisted living home at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, police said.

Police said Gerard Warren, of Gallitzin, left the Gallitzin assisted living home and while fleeing from police broke into the Gallitzin Sewage Treatment Plant on Commercial Lane.

Warren exited the treatment plant out of the front door and stole an unoccupied Gallitzin Borough police car, police said.

Police said Warren then continued to drive the police car South on State Route 53 into Cresson Borough where he was stopped and taken into custody on westbound State Route 22.

Police said Warren faces charges of criminal trespass, unlawful taking, reckless endangerment, attempting to elude a police officer and additional other charges.
Warren is in the Cambria CountyPrison awaiting his arraignment.
