07/05/16 Palm Beach Gardens, FL – DUI Woman In Handcuffs Steals Patrol Car – Pursuit – Crashes

Palm Beach Gardens police say a woman arrested on suspicion of DUI escaped handcuffs and then stole a police car.

Around 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 2200 block of Gardens East Drive for reports of a drunken driver.

Police arrested Deanna Robare, 37, of West Palm Beach.

While Robare was handcuffed and placed in the rear of a police car, she was able to break free of the handcuffs, get through the prisoner barrier and steal the police car.

After a brief pursuit, police say Robare crashed the cruiser in the 3500 block of Florida Boulevard, where she was taken back into custody.
