Tulsa Police say a man broke into a city garage Tuesday morning and vandalized police cars. Officer Leland Ashley confirmed it took place at the city garage at 1720 Newblock Park Drive, just off Charles Page Boulevard.

Paul Lamont Campbell was taken into custody in the vandalism. Its the second time he’s been arrested in as many days.

Officer Darren Shipley told News On 6 staff arriving at the garage noticed an interior fence had been damaged.

“The employees that run the garage saw the fence was down and started walking the lot, investigating and found the suspect inside one of the vehicles,” Shipley said.

When they investigated, they found Campbell passed out in a patrol car. They say he appeared to be intoxicated and was wearing a police jacket he’d taken out of a car.

Officers believe Campbell jumped a fence and found a set of keys in one of the cars. He drove it around, smashing the fence and hitting two other cars. Then he got into another car where he found the jacket.

Police found four cars parked on the lot they believe the man vandalized. Fortunately, they were surplus cars that were slated to go to the junkyard.

Campbell was booked on complaints of malicious injury to property, possession of stolen property, trespassing, joyriding, burglary of a vehicle and public intoxication.

Jail records show Campbell was arrested Sunday for public intoxication and resisting arrest. This time, police say, when he was found passed out in the cop car he was holding an empty compressed air canister.

His bond is more than $7,000.

Police said they will work with the garage personnel to see what security changes are needed to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
