A woman reportedly tried to steal an IMPD patrol car Sunday evening.

Kelly Roberts jumped into the cruiser in the 2800 block of E. New York Street around 6:15 p.m. and tried to get into the driver’s seat, according to police.

Officers said they had to forcibly remove the 30-year-old and she fought them when they did.

She was taken into custody on preliminary charges of criminal trespass, resisting law enforcement and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle. At last check, she was being held at the Arrestee Processing Center.
