Police say a woman in custody in the back of a Jacksonville police car managed to steal the vehicle and lead officers on a chase that ended with her arrest in Little Rock on Monday morning.

Alyssa Brooke Harrison, 25, of Sherwood was arrested shortly after 6 a.m. Monday and charged with theft of property, criminal mischief, fleeing and reckless driving, according to an arrest report at the Pulaski County jail.

Cammack Village police said in a Facebook post that the woman was being transported in the police car along I-30 bridge when the officer noticed a “suicidal jumper” on the bridge and stopped to help the person.

That’s when Harrison managed to get in the front seat and drive off, the post says.

The jail report says Harrison was in Jacksonville police custody for traffic warrants.

Little Rock police began pursuing the car on I-30, the report says, and arrested Harrison on Greenwood Street in Cammack Village.

Harrison also faces charges from Jacksonville police of obstructing government operations and third degree escape.
