Tulsa, OK - Patrol Car Stolen
From Officer's Home - Window Shattered to Hot Wire - Shotgun StolenTheft Of
Police Car Investigated
The TPD patrol car was located at Quail
Creek Apartments at 73rd and Memorial
Tulsa Police say someone broke out the driver's side window.
Tulsa Police are calling it a brazen move. Someone smashed into a squad car,
hotwired it, and drove it away from the front of an officer's house. The car was
found two hours later in a south Tulsa apartment complex.
A pump shotgun was missing from the officer's gun rack. The department says
a crook driving off in a police cruiser is rare.
"A couple times a year, you'll usually have a car that gets broken into and
items are taken from the car itself. Actually to have the car stolen is pretty
rare. So hopefully we can catch who's responsible for this and obviously if
they're going to do it once, why not hesitate doing it again," said Tulsa Police
Officer Jason Willingham.
Police ask anyone who may know something about the crime to call Crimestoppers
at 596 COPS.
