Items reportedly stolen from a Department of Agriculture police officer were found Saturday while Florida State University police were investigating a crash in a campus parking lot.
According to Maj. James Russell, the incident occurred at 4 p.m. Saturday when police were called to Parking Garage #4.
An officer responded and found the crash scene but two people inside the car ran away. A short time later, an officer found the two suspects and put them under arrest.
While searching their car, police found a taser, a gun, pepper spray, and a flashlight that had been reported stolen from the state officer.
One of the occupants had been dating the state officer’s daughter in Madison County and “thought it would be a great idea” to steal the car and the officer’s stuff out of his house, Russell said.
Two juvenile were taken into custody.
