Police arrest drug suspect who had escaped in a stolen squad car
The Philadelphia Inquirer - Posted June 29, 2002

The handcuffed prisoner who made a brazen escape from
narcotics officers last week in a stolen police car
was arrested without incident late Wednesday night
in a house in Southwest Philadelphia.

Detective Lt. Michael Chitwood said Highway Patrol Officers
Aaron Green and Ron Gilbert got a tip that Dannell Cash,
21, was inside a residence on the 6400 block of Windsor
Avenue, and found him there about 11 p.m. Cash, who lives
in Willingboro, Burlington County, was wanted on a warrant
charging him with escape, theft, receiving stolen property,
and drug offenses.

Cash was initially arrested about 1:15 p.m. June 19 at 65th
Street and Greenway Avenue, also in Southwest Philadelphia, on
suspicion of selling crack cocaine. He was handcuffed and placed
in the back of a squad car. Cash, however, jumped to the front
seat, found the keys on the cars computer terminal, and drove
off. He ditched the vehicle several blocks away and escaped.
