City official busted in police car
SULLIVAN, Ind., 6 (UPI) -- The president of the
city council in Sullivan, Ind., has been charged with taking a city police car
on a drunken joy ride.
Clint Lamb was arrested early Tuesday, The Terre Haute Tribune-Star reported.
The Sullivan County sheriff's office received a call that a police car was
stuck in a yard and that the driver was shining a spotlight into windows.
Lamb allegedly told a deputy he was waiting for a friend with a truck to pull
him out. He was arrested after failing sobriety tests and was later discovered
to have a blood alcohol level of .12, the newspaper reported.
Deputy Joshua Cary said the police car suffered damage and the yard where it
had gotten stuck, was torn up.
The identities of two people with Lamb had not been released. He was released on
$3,000 bail.
