Officers said the incident started around 7 p.m. when they tried to stop Jumoke Cryer, who was wanted on a felony warrant.
Cryer took off running and police ran after him. Sometime during the chase, police said Cryer doubled back and jumped into the empty squad car.
He sped off in the squad car before crashing into three other vehicles at I-94 and Dale Street. Police tell us the squad car was totaled.
No one was seriously hurt in the crash.
