A 39-year-old Eagan man was sentenced Thursday in Ramsey County
District Court to 22 months in prison for stealing a police car
and several pieces of expensive law enforcement equipment.

Anthony John White, who pleaded guilty to several thefts, stole
an unmarked police car from a St. Paul garage in October,
according to a criminal complaint.

A search warrant file in Dakota County listed the following in White's
apartment: a Wisconsin State Patrol badge, a deputy sheriff's badge,
parts for a squad car, Minnesota State Patrol license plates, a fire
department radio, a Minneapolis police officer's hat and other equipment.

White also was questioned about fires at St. Paul police car lots, but
was never charged. White has denied any connection with the fires,
which burned more than a dozen police cars in Highland Park and
near Midway Stadium.
