Spokane police had one of their patrol cars stolen during a traffic stop
Police car stolen during traffic stop
The Spokane Police Department had one of their own patrol cars stolen early Monday morning by suspected Russian gang members.
During a traffic stop just before two a.m., two suspects seized the opportunity and hopped into the patrol car and took off. Their flight ended when they crashed the car into a pole at Lidgerwood and Courtland.
Police used two K-9 units to search the area and were able to apprehend one suspect on First Degree Theft charges. The other person of interest is still at large.
Both suspects are known gang members.
