Four cars - Including an unmarked Sedgwick County sheriff's officers car -- were stolen this morning in Wichita, prompting Wichita police to warn residents not to leave keys in unattended and unlocked cars.

Lt. Duffy Doyle said the officer's car, which was stolen from her home near Central

and Ridge, has been recovered, but that police are still looking for a shotgun taken from the vehicle.

Doyle said detectives are interviewing a suspect in that case. The officer told police she backed her car out of her driveway to move another vehicle, then went inside without taking her keys with her.

The unmarked car and a stolen truck were recovered a few blocks away from the officer's home, Doyle said.

Doyle said the stolen truck and the other two stolen cars were left running and unattended by owners who wanted to warm up their vehicles.

More information about the thefts will be appear in Thursday's Eagle.
