Woman allegedly stole Scottsdale, AZ patrol car and crashed it

SCOTTSDALE - A woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing a patrol car from a Maricopa County sheriff's deputy.

Aurelia Cecily Enos, 32, was arrested late Monday night on suspicion of drunk driving in Fountain Hills.

The deputy handcuffed her and put her in the back seat of his vehicle while he finished writing his report outside the vehicle when Enos somehow got into the front seat and sped off in the car, authorities said.

Another patrol car chased Enos in a pursuit that ended when she crashed into a stop sign on the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, according to authorities.

Enos was not injured but she was booked into the county jail in Phoenix on suspicion of theft of a vehicle and DUI, sheriff's Sgt. Chuck Siemens said.
