Cop's Son Charged With Crashing Stolen Police Car

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- The son of a Savannah-Chatham police officer is facing charges of theft and driving under the influence after he stole and wrecked his father's patrol car over the weekend.

 

Patrick Goodberry Jr., 18, was found walking near the damaged cruiser after the wreck on Saturday. He has also been charged with striking a fixed object.

 

According to police, Goodberry's father, Cpl. Patrick Goodberry, called Savannah-Chatham Metro police when he discovered his patrol car was missing from his home and told officers his son had taken the car without permission.

 

Goodberry Jr. was taken to the Chatham County Jail and arraigned on Monday, where his bond was set at $3,500.
