Carjacker gets 10-year sentence for stealing a Patrol Car

Gary James Brown, 36, was charged with carjacking 
and aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer 
in connection with the June 27 theft near Bahia
Vista Street and Honore Avenue. Prosecutors had
contended Brown intentionally tried to run over
Deputy Scott Parr, who was standing near the
patrol car. Brown, however, testified he was 
merely trying to flee in the stolen patrol car
and meant no harm to the officer.
