A police cruiser stolen from outside a fire station with a shotgun left in it was found abandoned Monday in a parking lot, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office said.

The late model Crown Victoria had been stolen at 9:15 p.m. near Sanford. It had been left running in front of a fire station with a Sheriff's issue shotgun inside.

Authorities found the vehicle abandoned between a convenience store and a used car dealership. The missing shotgun was also recovered, the sheriff's office said.

No arrests were made, but the sheriff's office said investigators were following some leads.
