PoliceOne Staff Report
(PORTLAND, Ore.) -- Officers looking to crack down on drag
racers could have a problem within their own department.

The teen-age son of  a high-ranking officer has been accused
of driving his father's patrol car. A video, which appeared
on a street racing website, shows the youth driving his father's
unmarked car, KGW News reported.

A few officers are authorized to take their vehicles home, but are
supposed to restrict their use to official business, a Portland Police
Bureau spokesman told the television news station.

The site also shows an internal police memo that outlines department
plans to target drag racers.
