Port Gibson patrolman says keys were in ignition, but car was locked.

A Port Gibson police officer’s patrol car was stolen Tuesday from the police department’s parking lot.

Patrolman Kerrick Watson said he went into the police station shortly before 7 p.m. to drop off some tickets and when he returned about 7:15 p.m., his car was gone.

"There was a set of keys in the ignition, but the car was locked," said Watson, who has been a police officer for two years.

Watson said he had an extra set of keys.

The white 2001 Crown Victoria has blue stripes on the doors and long antenna on the back. Port Gibson Police Department is written on the doors of the car.
