Pomona, CA - Man Pleads Guilty after Stealing Police Car - Hiding AR 15 Assault Rifle and 12 Gage Shotgun
POMONA - A 35-year-old man pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges that he stole
a Pomona police car and impersonated a police officer.
David Anthony Battle pleaded guilty to one count each for unlawful taking of
a vehicle, receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a felon,
possession of ammunition and impersonating a police officer in Torrance Superior
Court, according to a Pomona police statement.
Two Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies stopped Battle in Lennox while he
drove a stolen Pomona police car, according to the statement.
Pomona detectives later found an AR-15 assault rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun
in a San Bernardino storage facility during their follow-up investigation.
They also found police uniforms and other equipment that Battle used to
impersonate a police officer, according to the statement.
Battle accepted a plea agreement to serve six years and six months with no
credit for time served, according to the statement.
