Plainfield police arrest city man after he allegedly tries to steal undercover cop car

A city man was arrested shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday after police saw the emergency lights and brakes activate on an undercover car outside headquarters, according to authorities.

Detective Michael Caspersen and several other narcotics detectives rushed outside the police department's Narcotic Office. They found Timoteo Ixcuna 721 Park Ave., Second Floor, inside the vehicle and arrested him, according to police.

Ixcuna, age unavailable, was charged with third-degree burglary and criminal mischief to city property. He was taken to the city jail.
