CAMDEN, N.J. -- A Philadelphia police car that was stolen overnight was
found early Sunday in Camden, N.J., but the man who allegedly took it was still
at large Sunday, police said.
The incident started at about 5:45 a.m. Sunday. Police said they saw two men
armed with guns driving a Chevy Tahoe.
A pursuit began near the intersection of Second Street and Glenwood Avenue. The
Chevy Tahoe crashed into a telephone pole near Sixth and Wood streets, and the
two men were handcuffed and placed in two separate police cars, police said.
One of the men somehow got into the front of the police car and took off in
the cruiser.
Police followed the man to the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, where the man
escaped with the car.
The cruiser was found damaged at an apartment complex in Camden, and the man
remained at large as of early Sunday.
