STOLEN POLICE VEHICLE WITH SHOTGUN POSSIBLY SIGHTED

On Tuesday, October 3rd, 2000, an unmarked Papillion
police vehicle was stolen from the 41 and 'L' Streets
area.
Some police equipment, including a vest with
the word 'Police' written on the front, a shotgun
and handcuffs were in the car at the time it was
stolen.

On Thursday, October 5th the Omaha Police Department
received information that this vehicle may have been
seen attempting to stop a citizen in the area of 72nd
and Blondo Streets. We have no physical description
of the suspect at this time.

If this vehicle is observed, please telephone 911
immediately with the location of the car.

A legitimate police officer must display a police
badge and photo identification at all times.
If a citizen is stopped by an officer in an
unmarked vehicle and still has reservations about the
"undercover officer", they should request that the
officer call for a marked cruiser to come to the scene.
