An inmate drove off from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office in a green and white patrol car this morning, but he was tracked down about two hours later looking for his girlfriend in Riviera Beach, said sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera.

Shortly before 6 this morning, Derrick Tucker, 21, was working in the sheriff's office motor pool under supervision.

But he was able to grab the keys to a patrol car and take off.

He faces additional charges of escape and grand theft auto, Barbera said.

Tucker was serving a 10-month sentence for burglary and grand theft auto.
