Ottawa, CA - OPP Unmarked Police Car With Officers Gun Stolen From Her Driveway - Cruiser Recovered - 40 Caliber Missing

OTTAWA — Ontario Provincial Police are missing a car after a thief made off with an unmarked police car early Tuesday morning.

Police said the off-duty officer parked her 2005 Chrysler in her Long Sault, Ont., driveway Monday night. At 1:30 a.m. Tuesday the officer woke up and realized her home had been broken into and her car stolen.

The officer's service weapon — a .40-calibre Sig Sauer — was in a secure lockbox in the trunk of the car. The lockbox also contained handcuffs, pepper spray and three magazines with ammunition. Her OPP jacket was in the trunk of the car.

There was no indication the car had a GPS device.

The missing car is a silver four-door Sebring with Ontario licence plate AXBV 712.
