California Orange
County Police Car Stolen- Still Missing

(CBS)
ORANGE, Calif. Police in
Orange County are still looking for the unmarked
sheriff’s vehicle that went missing from a parking
lot at the Theo Lacey Jail . The 2001 white
Ford Crown Victoria, however, was not reported
stolen until Thursday.
According to Orange County Sheriff Lt. Hand Strand,
the vehicle is shared among several deputes and jail
employees. The department needed to confirm that it
had not been taken in for maintenance by any of its
drivers before the car could be reported as stolen.
"Obviously we're concerned because we've got a
stolen police vehicle out there that can be used for
a lot of illegal acts," said sheriff's spokesman Jim
Amormino.
Fortunately there were no firearms or weapons in the
vehicle at the time of its disappearance.
The car is equipped with
spotlights on the driver and passenger doors and red
and blue lights on the passenger side visor. The
vehicle's license plate is E10906061 and the number
1378 is decaled on the front right and rear left
windows.
