Man Under Arrest May Have Stolen Police Car
MCDONALD COUNTY PRESS
A man arrested and handcuffed for driving while intoxicated is believed to
have stolen the car of the Noel, Mo., deputy who took him into custody,
according to a report from the McDonald County Sheriff's Department.
Noel Deputy Andrew Cummings reported he stopped a truck driven by Brandon S.
Hole, 40, of Anderson, Mo., Tuesday night on Mill Street in Noel. Cummings said
he could smell alcohol on the driver and performed a field sobriety test on the
man.
Cummings said that after the test, he handcuffed the man and placed him in the
patrol car.
Cummings said he then went back to the man's truck and advised two men still in
the vehicle it was going to be towed and they needed to get out.
Cummings said one of the men began to argue with him when the deputy looked
up and saw his patrol car coming at him, nearly striking him.
The patrol car proceeded down Mill Street and turned on Railroad Street
before it went out of sight.
A Noel firefighter reported he spotted the patrol car heading north on U.S.
59. A time later, the car was found in the ditch on U.S. 59, between Ginger Blue
and Noel.
Law enforcement officers from several agencies searched throughout the night,
but did not locate the man.
McDonald County Chief Deputy Gregg Sweeten said Wednesday morning officers were
continuing to look for Hole.
Hole is described as 6 feet tall, weighing 190 pounds with long brown hair and
brown eyes.
Anyone with any information on Hole's whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's
department at (417) 223-4319 or 911.
