Mount Holly, NC - Man Stabbed His Friend - Tried To Steal Patrol Car By Climbing Over Patrol Car Seat

A Mount Holly man stabbed his friend and tried to steal a police car, according to police.

Mount Holly police responded to a call about a fight on East Henry Street Saturday night. When they arrived, officers talked to Arlan M. Haas and found another man with a stab wound to his stomach, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

Haas, 25, of 1112 Peppertree Drive, was put in the back of a patrol car, Cpl. B.S. Wright wrote in the affidavit.

Wright saw Haas trying to climb over the seat, according to Wright.

When the officer removed Haas from the car he found the keys to the patrol car in the man’s hand, Wright said in the report.

Haas was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and attempted larceny. He was held on a $50,000 secured bond.
