Man steals police car, injures officer

Police arrested a Moore Township man this morning after he knocked down a
police officer with a stolen police cruiser, later ditching the car and fleeing
on foot.
Police will charge John Zeiner Jr. later today with aggravated assault, reckless
endangerment and theft, according to Moore Township police Chief Gary
West. Zeiner may also be charged with DUI, pending the results of a blood
test.A township police officer responding to a tenant-landlord dispute found Zeiner standing next to a pick-up truck on Copella Road sometime after 6:30 a.m. Zeiner jumped into the officer's patrol car and knocked Officer
Brandon Schippers to the ground as he pulled away.
Schippers escaped serious injury, and police arrested Zeiner about 8:25 this
morning.
