MONTREAL -
Police are looking for a man who threatened his ex-girlfriend and stole a police car in Verdun early Wednesday morning.

Police were called to the scene of a domestic dispute on Gordon Street, says police spokesperson Steve Morrisette.

Police chased a suspect on foot, but he got away, Morrisette says.

He says the man showed up again, but this time, stole a police cruiser that was parked outside the home and drove off.

Another police chase ensued, this time by car.

Morrisette says the suspect in the stolen cruiser crashed into a transport Quebec vehicle on Champlain Street, then drove off and smashed into a pole near 5th Avenue. The suspect then fled on foot.

Morrisette says the suspect is known to police, and that a warrant has been requested for his arrest.
