Helicopter, Dogs Used To Capture Suspect
Police pulled all their resources together
Sunday night to capture a teen who reportedly
took off in a deputy's patrol car.
Police say the 16-year-old slid under the
screen between the front and back seat of
the patrol car and drove off. The teen was
reportedly being held in the back of the car
while the deputy was investigation the case
of a stolen handgun inside a home on the
8000 block of Summerfield Road in Monroe
County.
A radio call alerted other deputies, who
located the vehicle in a ditch on the 15000
block of Ida Center Road.
The teen reportedly stole a shotgun from the
vehicle and fled to a nearby house on foot,
according to police.
Michigan State Police and the Toledo Police
Department used a helicopter, dogs and patrol
cars to locate the teen at the home, where he
later surrendered.
The teen is being held in a county juvenile
center on several charges.
