Girl who stole police car gets 5 years of probation

May 5, 2007

LOCKPORT — A 17-year-old Genesee Street girl who stole a police car was placed on five years’ probation Thursday by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza.

Samantha J. Danley had pleaded guilty to fourth-degree possession of stolen property. She was a passenger in a car driven by Seraka J. Green, 33, of Lincoln Place, which was pulled over on Gooding Street on Jan. 19 for having improper license plates.

Police reported that as Green fought with Officer Kevin Lucinski, Danley jumped into Lucinski’s patrol car and drove off. She left the patrol car in gear when she abandoned it at Molinaro’s Ristorante on Walnut Street. The car rolled down the street and crashed into the Expert Tire store, causing $3,000 in damage to a garage door.

Assistant District Attorney Charles F. Pitarresi said Green’s case would soon be presented to a grand jury.
