Two homes broken into; deputy’s car stolen
LANCASTER — Thieves broke into a Fairfield County Sheriff deputy’s home
and stole his car while another home a couple of blocks away was also entered
early Thursday.
Deputy Edward A. Curry Jr. told police officers he heard his dog barking at 4:11
a.m. today and when he went to let his dog out, he noticed someone running
through his back yard on Carl Drive.
That’s when he discovered his car, a missing, and someone had entered his
home.
The thieves stole medication; $625 in cash; a deputy’s winter coat; a rain
coat; two deputy badges, credit cards and personal identification in addition to
the car.
A couple of blocks away on North Cedar Avenue a homeowner discovered someone had
moved a chair next to a first floor window which was found opened at 3:40 a.m.
Nothing was reported missing at the second home.
