A 25-year-old Cumberland County woman faces multiple charges after allegedly stealing a deputy's patrol car and leading police on a chase.

Cumberland County Sheriff Butch Burgess said Michelle Lee Owens was being pursued on foot by a deputy, when she hopped into his patrol car and sped off

It happened around 9 a.m. Sunday.

The chase followed the interstate through Roane County and into Knox County, finally stopping around I-75 at Buttermilk Road in Knoxville.

Several agencies, including the Tennessee Highway Patrol, joined in on the chase.

Sheriff Burgess said Owens was drunk.
