Kenner Louisiana police car stolen in Metairie

An unmarked Kenner police car containing two guns and body armor was stolen in Metairie on Friday morning, Kenner police said.
The 2000 Dodge Intrepid
had the license plate JLG079.The car was outside a residence when it was stolen about 8 a.m. A detective who was using it was inside the home at the time, police spokesman Capt. Steve Caraway said.
The car is gold and has tinted windows. It contained a .40-caliber pistol, a 12-gauge shotgun, police body armor, handcuffs, flashlights and other police equipment.
It was the
second police car stolen in the metropolitan area in four days.An State Police car was stolen Tuesday morning in eastern New Orleans. Also a 2000 Dodge Intrepid, but silver, it contained a 12-gauge shotgun.
Caraway said anyone seeing the Kenner police car should call any local police agency or Crimestoppers, 822-1111.
