Prisoner who stole police car is recaptured

A handcuffed prisoner in Jefferson, Texas, got away from his arresting
officer, jumped into the officer's patrol car and drove away before getting the
car stuck on a muddy road.
The escapee was arrested -- still handcuffed -- this morning.
The police officer has been reprimanded for the incident.
Jefferson police said Officer Travis Redd had arrested 27-year-old Henry Kyle
Roller overnight on misdemeanor drug charges.
Roller and a woman were brought to the Marion County Jail to be booked about
3 a.m. Police said Redd had turned to put the woman's purse down when Roller,
who was handcuffed in front, jumped into the patrol car and drove off.
The police car got stuck on a muddy road about nine miles east of Jefferson
nd Roller ditched the car, police said.
Roller was arrested shortly before 10 a.m. today by a Marion County sheriff's
deputy. He was found in a house, still wearing handcuffs.
Roller faces several charges, including felony escape and drug possession.
Police said the patrol car was left with the keys still in the ignition. Redd
has been reprimanded, police said
