Police car stolen, high-speed chase in Irving

Grand jury declines to indict Irving officer in killing a Dallas County grand jury on
Wednesday declined to indict an Irving police officer who shot and killed a teen-ager 
Nov. 20. Officer Ned Wayne Ehurmond shot 17-year-old Jeffrey Cook after the 
youth pointed a gun at the officer in a gas station parking lot, authorities said. Police 
said that Mr. Cook had stolen a police car and led officers on a high-speed chase.  
Police said the teen-ager had terrorized residents along his street in southeast Irving, 
firing guns and threatening to kill himself, his mother and police officers.
