IDAHO FALLS, Idaho - The teenage daughter of a Bonneville County sheriff's deputy crashed her father's unmarked police car Saturday.
The 15-year-old and a friend -- also of the same age -- face misdemeanor charges of driving without an owner's consent. The daughter also must pay for the car's repairs, totaling 970 dollars.
Nobody was hurt in the accident. The deputy will not face fines or punishment.
The girl allegedly was being taught driving by her friend when she slid on snow while turning a corner. The car slammed into a snow bank. The front bumper cracked and the front right tire popped.
The girls had the tire changed, drove the unmarked police car home and didn't speak of the incident until confronted by the deputy.
