A Delaware man arrested in connection to an alleged domestic dispute was able
to steal a police cruiser and lead officers on a chase that at times reached 100
mph.
The incident began when the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Joseph Snow, was
arrested after officers responded to a domestic dispute about 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Officers arrested Snow and placed him inside a police cruiser. While officers
were interviewing witnesses, the suspect was able to get into the front seat of
the car and drive off.
Snow led officers on a 22 minute pursuit that reached speeds of 100 mph at
times.
The chase finally ended when Snow crashed into another cop car at Lancaster Pike
and Valley Road in Hockessin. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle
and later transported to the Christiana Hospital where he was treated for minor
injuries.
The officer in the other car in the collision was also transported to the
Christiana Hospital where he was treated and released.
Snow is expected to be charged with multiple offenses. The incident remains
under police investigation.
