Police officer's car stolen from Hemet
CA police station used in bank robbery
Thursday, May 6, 2004
Cars can be stolen from just about anywhere, even the parking lot of a police
station. That's what happened in Hemet last week.
A police officer's car was stolen right out of the Hemet Police Department
lot, with the officer's loaded handgun in the glove compartment.
And today, the same vehicle was seen leaving the scene of a bank robbery. It happened at the Provident Bank in Hemet shortly before 11 this morning.
Police say an Hispanic man walked into the bank with a gun and demanded money. He took off in a dark Ford Explorer, the same car that was stolen from the police station.
