Police Continue Search For Escaped Juvenile Inmates

Two brick masons have told police that they saw and spoke to two missing teen inmates on the day they allegedly overpowered an officer and forced her out of the car they were in on the Bluegrass Parkway.

Police say the two inmates, Amber Tucker, 17, and Brandi Murrah, 16, were being take from Warren County to the Morehead Youth Development Center Tuesday morning when one of them faked an illness. When the Department of Juvenile Justice transport officer checked on her, both inmates then allegedly overpowered the officer and forced her to stop and exit the car. They then stole the car and left eastbound toward Lexington on the Bluegrass Parkway.

The Blue 2005 Ford Crown Victoria that the teens allegedly stole was located that night by the Harrodsburg Police Department, but there was no sign of Tucker or Murrah.

The brick masons say they were working on a job in Harrodsburg on Tuesday afternoon when two teens matching the inmates' descriptions approached them, claiming that they were stepsisters who were lost. They say that one of the girls did not have any shoes on.

The men say the girls then had them give directions to where they were to someone they claimed was their sister on a cell phone.

Police are continuing to search for the pair in the Brentwood subdivision of Harrodsburg.

Tucker is a white female, 5'6", approximately 109 lbs. with brown hair and blue eyes. Murrah 16 is a white female, 5'2", approximately 118 lbs. with brown hair and blue eyes.
