Thief picks wrong car to steal

OVER-THE-RHINE -- Deputies arrested a 13-year-old boy Friday with a long
criminal record after he stole a Hamilton County Deputy Sheriff’s car.
The boy took the car after the deputy parked it on Spring Street while working
at the Hamilton County Justice Center, according to the sheriff’s office.
Two deputies who noticed the car pursued it in Over-the-Rhine, catching up
after the boy crashed and tried to run away. Police arrested the boy after a
short chase.
The boy is being held in the Juvenile Detention Center, where he is charged with
two felonies, motor vehicle theft and receiving stolen property, plus a
misdemeanor charge of obstructing official business.
Last year, police charged the same boy with seven theft offenses, two attempted
thefts, two criminal trespass offenses, receiving stolen property, drug
possession, drug abuse, aggravated menacing and for the possession of criminal
tools
