Hamilton, Canada - Man attempts to Steal Police Car while officer writes ticket - Suspect Subdued with Knife

HAMILTON (AM900 CHML) - A bizarre incident in east Hamilton.
Police got a call yesterday afternoon from the Kenilworth & Hope area after a man tried to steal a by-law officer's car.

The officer noticed it while writing up a ticket nearby and grabbed the suspect to try to stop him from getting away.

The suspect pulled out a knife, which the by-law officer was able to get him to drop, but in his other pocket was a screwdriver.

Police arrived and subdued the suspect but not before finding an ice pick in his pants.

38-year-old Timothy Hamilin of no fixed address is charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and breach of probation.
