Guysborough, Nova Scotia - RCMP Officer Assaulted - Cruiser Stolen

 

GUYSBOROUGH -- Two men are in custody after an RCMP officer was assaulted and his cruiser stolen in Guysborough, Nova Scotia.

Police say the officer had stopped the pair for a traffic violation last night when an altercation began.

When the member moved away to call for backup the two men jumped into his car and sped off.

It was later found abandoned
 

One suspect was arrested a couple of hours later while the other turned himself in this morning.

The two, who remain in custody, will be charged with auto theft, assaulting an officer and obstruction.

There may be additional charges.
