Police say Teen Stole Cruiser at crash site

A 17-year-old stole a police cruiser after it was left 
at the scene of an accident that the boy was involved in,
police said.

A Carter County sheriff's deputy walked away from his cruiser 
Saturday night at the crash scene, Grayson police Officer
Travis Steel said. The boy drove off in it shortly afterward,
Steel said.

State troopers and Grayson police chased the stolen cruiser 
west on U.S. 60 toward Grayson, reaching speeds of 120 mph,
Steel said.

The short pursuit ended when the stolen cruiser hit a gravel
road off U.S. 60 and wrecked, Steel said. The juvenile was 
charged with 19 criminal and traffic offenses, "including theft, 
driving under the influence and wanton endangerment, Steel said.
