(Grand Rapids, May 13, 2004, 8:26 a.m.) Early this morning, Grand Rapids police spotted a man trying to steal a woman's bike near the intersection of College and Fulton.
 
After police caught him in the act, the suspect jumped a fence, got into the officer's cruiser and drove off. He abandoned the car a few blocks away.
 
They found him about an hour later. He's now in the Kent County Jail.
