Georgia - Johnson County Deputy Shoots Suspect in Face
While Trying to Run Him Over in his Stolen Patrol Car
A check on what appeared to be a stalled car ends with a man being shot in
the face.
Agent K.A. Golden with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations says it happened
around 11:00pm on Highway 15, Golden says a Johnson County Sheriff's Deputy
stopped to check on a car parked on the shoulder.
The man in the car was 22-year-old Quentin May of Sandersville.
He told the deputy he ran out gas and lost his keys.
Golden says the deputy was searching the ground near the car when May jumped
into the patrol car and tried to run down the deputy.
That's when the deputy fired and shot May in the face.
The GBI is still investigating.
No update has been released on the status of the deputy.
